A wealth corner can land in different places on the same floor plan when the entrance, compass orientation, boundary, or feng shui method changes. The four examples below show how those inputs affect rectangular, apartment, open-plan, and L-shaped homes.
If you have not selected a method, start with the guide to finding a wealth corner on a floor plan.
How to Read Feng Shui Wealth Corner Floor Plan Examples
Check four details before accepting any highlighted area on a floor plan.
| Label | Question to ask |
|---|---|
| Boundary | Are you mapping the house, apartment unit, or one room? |
| Entrance | Which door belongs to that boundary? |
| North | Has true north been verified? |
| Method | Is this an entrance grid, compass sector, room position, or Flying Star chart? |
If one of these details is missing, treat the result as provisional.
Rectangular Home Wealth Corner Example
Picture a rectangular one-story home with the main door centered on the south wall and north at the top of the plan.
Using a front-door-aligned Bagua, stand at the south entrance and look north. The far back-left cell lands in the northwest part of the building.
Using a compass-oriented Xun map, southeast is in the lower-right part of this north-up plan. The two methods highlight opposite sides of the same home because one uses the viewpoint at the entrance and the other uses fixed geographic direction.
Draw and label both overlays if you want to compare them. Do not merge them into a third result.
Apartment Wealth Corner Floor Plan Example
Consider a fifth-floor apartment with its private door on the east side of the unit. The tower’s main lobby is on the south side of the building.
For a whole-apartment entrance grid, use the apartment door and the private unit boundary. Exclude the elevator lobby, shared hallway, and neighboring units. From the east-side door, the far back-left area lands in a different physical corner than it would from the tower entrance.
A compass-oriented map keeps the unit fixed to true north and identifies southeast from the unit’s center. The building lobby does not set that sector.
Using the building lobby as the entrance while keeping the apartment walls as the boundary mixes two different subjects in one map.
Open-Plan Home Wealth Corner Example
Imagine a rectangular home where the far back-left grid cell includes part of the living room, a kitchen counter, and a window wall.
The wealth area is the entire mapped zone. It does not shrink to the nearest shelf simply because that shelf looks more like a corner. Use the portion that can be maintained without blocking a window, walkway, or kitchen work area.
A clear counter, working light, or healthy plant in a suitable spot may fit the space. A fountain beside electrical outlets or a large object in a walkway creates an avoidable problem.
L-Shaped Home Wealth Corner Example
Now picture a home with a recessed upper-left section. When a three-by-three entrance grid is drawn over the containing rectangle, part of the far back-left cell falls outside the enclosed home.
Keep the missing portion visible instead of stretching the nearby bedroom to fill it. Then mark the usable interior edge of the same zone and note what is actually there.
The term "missing wealth corner" describes the relationship between the chosen grid and the building outline. It does not predict a financial loss.
If the recessed area is a covered balcony, attached garage, or enclosed addition, decide whether it belongs to the functional home boundary before classifying the plan.
How Different Feng Shui Methods Change the Floor Plan
| Change | Likely effect |
|---|---|
| Use a different main entrance | The entrance-aligned grid shifts with the new reference door |
| Rotate the building on the site | Compass sectors move relative to the rooms |
| Map one room instead of the home | The boundary and reference door change |
| Add the building period and facing | A Flying Star natal chart can be calculated |
| Add annual stars | A time-based layer is placed over the base chart |
This is why wealth corner and wealth direction are separate ideas. One describes a place on the plan, while the other may describe orientation or a personal calculation. The complete feng shui wealth corner guide compares the main systems.
Common Wealth Corner Floor Plan Errors
| Error | Correction |
|---|---|
| Treating the top of the page as north | Verify a north reference |
| Including common hallways | Use the private unit outline |
| Rotating the plan after placing the grid | Lock the orientation before drawing |
| Forcing the zone into one room | Mark the full area across walls |
| Mixing far-left and southeast | Draw separate, labeled overlays |
| Using only an annual chart | Add the required natal-chart inputs |
Generic examples are useful for learning the mapping logic. A personalized reading may help when the plan is irregular, the main entrance is debatable, compass readings vary, renovations changed the boundary, or you want a Xuan Kong Flying Star chart.
Prepare a proportional plan, label the entrance, mark north, and note major extensions or renovations. A Wealth Corner Reading can then show the method and result on the same plan.
Wealth Corner Floor Plan FAQs
Can the wealth area cover more than one room?
Yes. A grid cell or directional sector can cross walls and include parts of several rooms. Treat it as a zone and work with the usable portions.
What if my floor plan has no north arrow?
You can still use an entrance-aligned map. Do not claim a southeast sector or other compass-based result until north is verified.
Does an apartment use the building entrance or unit entrance?
Use the unit entrance and private boundary when mapping the apartment. A whole-building analysis uses a different scale.
Is a bathroom in the highlighted area automatically bad?
No room placement guarantees a financial result. Keep the bathroom dry, repaired, ventilated, and functional, then interpret it within the selected method.
Can I calculate Flying Stars from these examples?
No. A Flying Star chart requires building-specific orientation and time information. These examples explain spatial mapping only.
